Thank you again for this continuing opportunity to relate. My previous comment was moot completed, but was submitted a few minutes ago.
Continuing: … in the pick and choose realm, related to the word, “image” why does the literal definition not get accepted? Whose mirror are we using? Maybe that is the message literally taught. Why do some great intellectually endowed persons, with all due respect, refuse to accept the literal definition of a word, image, and do cartwheels to to avoid the notion of an IMAGE. Pick and choose is not the way to define the Torah. When is iota symbolic, or when is it the literal image! Like it or not. In my most truly and humble opinion, I believe that is the reason for the stated words, …in the image of G-D. This is a moment to defer.
Belief can be literal, understand it or not! Like it or not. Accept it or think, “Well, that has to be symbolic, metaphor. That can be the lesson
Of the word, IMAGE. It is like a compliment to our species
