Anti-Semitic comments of Helen Thomas, the so-called “dean” of the White House press corp, were exposed in a brief video encounter with Jewish filmmaker David Nesenoff. The video went viral and thrust Thomas’ bias into the spotlight, forcing her career to end. Here Nesenoff tells his fascinating story (with much humor), and makes a passionate plea for Jews to combat anti-semitism by “doing Jewish” in their own lives.

David Nesenoff is an independent filmmaker, blogger and publisher. In the 1990s, he counseled youths who had committed bias crimes, and worked as a consultant to the U.S. Department Justice. In June 2010 a video he made went viral; the video showed Helen Thomas, the so-called “dean” of the White House media corp, making anti-semitic statements. In the aftermath Thomas was forced to resign her job, and Nesenoff received over 25,000 pieces of hate mail, including death threats. He currently serves as CEO of Tikvah Lake, a recovery and rehab center in Florida, and can be contacted at [email protected].
